Nurse for Homeless & Vulnerable Adults

Since qualifying in 1985 she has worked as a nurse in a wide variety of clinical environments and specialities. For the past 11 years she has worked as the Nurse for Homeless & Vulnerable Adults in Swansea, working in partnership with a local GP Surgery and ABMU Health Board.

As well as providing opportunistic health care on a daily basis to homeless people and to those with substance misuse issues, Jan is a member of the All-Wales Harm Minimization Expert Panel and the QNI Homeless Health Network Advisory Group.

She received Shelter Cymru’s Val Feld Award for her work with homeless women in 2008. She has been a Queen’s Nurse since 2010 and was made an MBE in 2012 for Services to Homeless & Vulnerable People
