Claire has worked in the voluntary sector for nearly 20 years, initially with organisations that work with vulnerable children and young people and most recently within Local Government and as the CEO of a Youth Charity.
Homeless Oxfordshire is the largest provider of accommodation to single homeless adults in Oxfordshire and Claire joined the charity as CEO in May 2016. Providing a range of support and projects in varying types of accommodation for up 200 clients the charity is seen as a vital service in the locality.
Homeless Oxfordshire’s main challenge is how to meet an ever increasing need for accommodation against the backdrop of public authority cuts. Addressing how to exist as a charity in our own right and not solely as a government funded organisation is an on-going challenge.
