Dr Caroline Shulman is a clinician and researcher in Homeless and Inclusion Health. She is clinical lead for a hospital homeless Pathway team at Kings College Hospital and has worked as a GP providing primary care in a specialist homeless practice for many years.

Caroline is a Pathway research Fellow and honorary senior lecturer at UCL, London. She is principal investigator on a qualitative study on Palliative Care in homeless people, in collaboration with Pathway, St Mungo’s, Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Department (UCL) and Coordinate My Care. Through discussions with homeless people, frontline hostel and healthcare providers, this research explored current provision of care to homeless and vulnerably housed people as their health deteriorates. A number of challenges to providing quality care to this population have been identified along with some potential solutions.

Together with colleagues from UCL and St Mungo’s, training is being developed for staff working in homeless hostels.
