An exploration of homeless patients’ experience of General Practice in an outreach setting.

Having worked for several years as a Registered Adult Nurse and community nurse for people seeking asylum and refugees in the North East of England, Fiona is now a lecturer in Nursing Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Her teaching and research interests are around health inequalities, gender based violence, homelessness and refugee health. She is the Programme Director for the MSc in Advancing Nursing Practice and teaches several courses in Global Public Health/Community Health at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Homelessness and inclusion health is an on-going focus of her work and this is reflected in her research. She is particularly interested in qualitative research methodologies that work with peer participatory researchers as part of the research process. Fiona is a founding member and current trustee of Justice First, a charity working in the Tees Valley with people who find themselves destitute following the asylum process in the UK.
