An exploration of homeless patients’ experience of General Practice in an outreach setting.

Victoria studied medicine at Edinburgh University and completed her foundation years in Scotland. She worked in as a junior doctor in St Georges Hospital, London before spending six months in Sierra Leone working in a small district hospital. After this she moved to Australia where she gained further experience in general medicine.

Realising that her interests lay in General Practice, she returned to the UK to undertake her GP training. Throughout her undergraduate and postgraduate career Victoria has had an interest in providing health care to disadvantaged and hard to reach groups, leading to her role as the health inequalities fellow at the Edinburgh Access practice. Her recent qualitative research was inspired by her involvement in outreach working with the homeless population in Edinburgh.

Victoria has recently been awarded a diploma in sexual and reproductive health. She currently works as a GP in Glasgow and continues her involvement in homeless health.
