Ruth has enjoyed a diverse career operating at Directorial and Chief Executive Level to establish and lead equity and health renewal organisations.

As Head of Equalities and Health Inequalities for NHS England, her achievements include overseeing the introduction of the NHS Workforce Race Equality Standard, (WRES) in April 2015, establishing a system of ‘Lived Experience’ representation on the Equality and Diversity Council , commissioning a draft Workforce Disability Equality Standard with an associated campaign of action and engagement, developing national pilot for asylum health provision and pioneering Information Standards for equality groups including the Sexual Orientation monitoring standard currently being piloted and the proposal for a Unified Standard across the 9 characteristics protected by the Equality Act.

Ruth’s policy experience spans care at
End of Life, the implementation of human rights in healthcare, quality standards in translation and interpretation services as well as championing dignity in care. She is passionate about co-production and working from the asset base of individuals and communities.
