Emma studied medicine at the University of Liverpool and completed her foundation years in Barrow-in-Furness, an area noted for its high levels of social deprivation and poverty. Emma gained further experience in the healthcare of vulnerable groups, on placements abroad in rural South India and Kolkata. Following GP training in Oxfordshire, Emma completed a Clinical Leaders Fellowship at Luther Street Medical Centre (LSMC) in Oxford, focusing on access to contraception for women experiencing homelessness. Emma has previously worked at HMP Bullingdon and a local drug and alcohol addiction service in Oxford. Emma joined LSMC, a specialist primary care centre for people experiencing homelessness in 2013 and is the clinical lead GP for alcohol interventions at the practice.
