Dr Emma Williamson is a Principal Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). Working in partnership with Thames Reach homeless charity and London Borough of Lambeth Integrated Commissioning Cluster, she has run innovative mental health initiative implementing the principals of ‘Psychologically Informed Environments’ and ‘Trauma-Informed Care’ in select homeless hostels in Lambeth for the past seven years. This truly integrated mental health and accommodation support service bases a team of NHS Clinical Psychologists inside homeless hostels full-time to work alongside hostel staff teams in tackling complex needs, multiple disadvantage and complex trauma. Emma formerly worked at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust in their innovative Primary Care Psychotherapy Consultation Service and has a personal interest in contributing to service redesign and development of the evidence base for working with socially excluded and complex needs populations. Emma is also the CEO of aneemo Ltd staff training and development company, works in private practice, teaches on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate at the Kings College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience and is a published author.
