Career History
Lauren currently works as a Homeless Outreach & Research Pharmacist across both Glasgow (Hunter Street Centre) & Edinburgh (The Access Practice). In these roles she works within the street medicine outreach team (linked in with The Simon Community & Streetworks charities) providing health care to street sleepers and pop up clinics in hostels & day centres. In her other role, she works as the Lead GP Practice Pharmacist in Woodstock Medical Centre, Lanarkshire, Scotland providing clinical pharmacy services . In both roles she works as an independent non medical prescriber.
Previous experience – prior to her homeless health outreach role, Lauren worked as a Senior Substance Misuse Pharmacist at NHS Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Areas of interest include substance misuse rehabilitation & recovery, homelessness & inclusive health, health inequalities, street medicine, primary care, non medical prescribing, utilising the multidisiplinary team, innovation in homeless services.
