Dania Al-Hashimi
Medical Student, University of Sheffield
Dania is a 4th year medical student at the University of Sheffield. She has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to health inequalities throughout university, and hopes to pursue this in her future medical career.
She is the Co-Chair of Student Fairhealth Sheffield, a student society dedicated to improving health inequalities via peer education for healthcare students, volunteering and advocacy. In this role she has co-organised two national inclusion health conferences; arranged talks on topics such as sex worker health and inclusion health careers; and co-designed a teaching session on vulnerable migrant health for the first year medical curriculum.
In 2023 she worked with the Sheffield Community Contact Tracers to produce a project on the impact of long COVID on healthcare workers, which was presented at conferences locally and nationally. Her project presented at Pathway’s 2026 conference was produced during a six-week optional placement with Roundabout, a Sheffield-based youth homelessness charity.
