Dr Katherine Pitt

Dr Katherine Pitt is a GP working in homeless and inclusion healthcare in Brighton at Arch Healthcare.  She also teaches student doctors at Brighton and Sussex Medical School and co-chairs the Pathway Education Subcommittee.  She is currently completing a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) knowledge mobilisation fellowship on the community palliative care of liver cirrhosis.  She has a particular interest in alcohol related liver disease.  As part of this fellowship, she is developing free educational resources for front line workers and community healthcare professionals about alcohol related liver cirrhosis.  She will work with people with lived experience of the condition and caring for people with the condition to produce training.  She is also contributing to quality improvement work in Sussex to improve the care of people with liver cirrhosis including palliative care.
