Dr Ryan Young
GP in Homeless & Inclusion Health, Brownlow Health
Ryan Young is the lead associate for Inclusion Health at Brownlow Health in Liverpool. He oversees the Homeless Health and Asylum, Refugee and Migrant Health teams which collectively look after 2,500 patients. He is interested in new ways of providing specialist care in General Practice for people experiencing multiple exclusion, establishing specialist teams in palliative and diabetes care for people experiencing homelessness.
At Brownlow Health with the homeless health team Ryan offers addiction health support prescribing OST in General Practice and providing specialist alcohol support for people experiencing homelessness. The team utilise a low threshold model with assertive outreach, providing addictions support to over 500 patients each year.
Ryan also works as a trustee for The Whitechapel Centre, a large homelessness charity in Liverpool, is a Medico-Legal Report Writer for Freedom from Torture and provides clinical support for Transforming Choice a residential detox and rehabilitation centre in Liverpool.
