Gail Butler
Participation and Learning Coordinator, Justlife
Gail is the Participation and Learning Coordinator at Justlife, a national homelessness charity advocating for people living in temporary accommodation. She is dedicated to ensuring that the voices and expertise of those with lived experience of homelessness meaningfully shape the organisation’s work, and she works to make all projects safe, accessible, inclusive, and trauma-informed. Over the past two years, she has coordinated projects that engage individuals with lived experience to co-design and conduct community-based research, embedding these participatory practices within Justlife’s wider research approach. Gail also shares learning on lived experience involvement with partner organisations and contributes to lived experience-informed policy influencing. Her work is driven by a clear vision that national and local policies must reflect the lived realities and priorities of people experiencing homelessness.
