Ioana Brezeanu is a Senior Research and Policy Officer at SJOG Hospitaller Services - a national charity helping people to lead fulfilling lives.
Ioana holds a Master of Research (MRes) in Social and Cultural Anthropology and has developed strong expertise in working directly with people with lived experience and in applying participatory research methods.
She has contributed to a range of collaborative studies, including the Inclusive Approaches to Health Protection report coordinated by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), several UCL-led studies examining health and nutrition among people with experiences of homelessness, and the Updated Survivors Care Standards coordinated by the Human Trafficking Foundation.
Ioana has also led key studies, including the development of an evidence-based Trauma-Informed Care Pathway for survivors of modern slavery (2019) and a recent study exploring access to health support and treatment for people affected by trafficking and modern slavery (2024).
