Manoel Filho

Founder & Director, Lived Experience Coproduction Ltd (LEC); Author, Out in Parks: A Queer Man’s Journey In and Out of Rough Sleeping

Manoel Filho is the author of Out in Parks: A Queer Man’s Journey In and Out of Rough Sleeping, a graphic novel coproduced with S.J. Wyatt and Donna Riddington. As Founder and Director of Lived Experience Coproduction Ltd (LEC), Manoel uses creative coproduction to deepen understanding of homelessness, HIV, mental health, and queer migration.

His work demonstrates how lived experience can influence practice at multiple levels—from frontline homelessness support to public health responses. Through the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, Manoel is developing health innovation that helps NICE and other organisations embed lived experience into service design and consultation. He highlights the essential links between homelessness and HIV vulnerability, advocating for housing protections and dedicated pathways to meet the UK’s 2030 goals on ending rough sleeping and new HIV infections.
