Sotiria Kyriakidou

Sotiria Kyriakidou is a researcher and PhD candidate in Human Geography, at the University of Manchester, using mixed methods research, broadly related to homelessness, temporary accommodation, substance use, stigma, poverty alleviation, and harm reduction drug policies. She holds an MA in addictions from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and her PhD research explores homeless shelters, social context and its effects on drug and alcohol use. She is published in Harm Reduction Journal and recent activity includes presenting her research on various international conferences and coordinating events and workshops on homelessness issues with a focus on homeless shelters. Sotiria is a social worker with almost a decade of experience delivering frontline services in the field of poverty and homelessness, internationally, and she is passionate about promoting social inclusion and increasing social sustainability.
