Tommy Cashin

Senior Mental Health Social Worker

Tommy has worked in Mental Health for around 11 years as a qualified social worker and had placements and work experience in drugs services prior to this. Passionate about the power of therapeutic relationships, collaborative shared understandings of difficulties, addressing social injustice and systemic inequality as part of a wider pattern of advocacy and particularly interested in how power dynamics and how collectives can challenge existing power structures.

In terms of Mental Health approaches he has a strong sympathy for the power threat meaning framework and the way in which this can be applied to complex presentations in individuals and systemically.
