Dr Twinkle Choksi

Dr. Twinkle Choksi (BSc (Hons), MSc, DClinPsy) is a Clinical Psychologist and published author working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. Her earlier research explored how people who use substances experience accessing and living in homeless hostels, with a focus on physical and psychological safety and the importance of human connection. Her most recent research explores how people experiencing homelessness make decisions about accessing Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments, highlighting the physical, psychological, and systemic factors shaping these decisions.
Alongside her research, Twinkle has worked clinically in third-sector services supporting individuals facing severe and multiple disadvantage. She is committed to evidence-based practice and to embedding lived experience within research and clinical decision-making. Her work aims to develop services that are person-centred, equitable, and accessible, promoting inclusive healthcare that is meaningfully responsive to people’s lived realities. Her broader interests include reducing health inequalities and amplifying marginalised voices in healthcare systems.
