Joseph McDonough
Counsellor
St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice
Joe is a former Soldier completing 24 years service and on retirement trained as a Counsellor. He is a BACP registered Counsellor with qualifications in a number of modalities such as Person Centred therapy, CBT and Solution Focused therapy. He also trained as an NLP practitioner and has a number of related qualification such as LDSS.
He has worked as a volunteer Counsellor at ST Luke’s (Cheshire) hospice for the past 17 years. Joe has particular interests in working in the areas of loss & grief, domestic & sexual abuse, addiction and homelessness. He was starkly aware of the gap in provision for those people who have life limiting or a palliative diagnosis, who were living in supported accommodation or were homeless (rough sleeping).
Joe has found the gap in provision difficult to accept, hence his active involvement with this project.
