An Untold Story – Voices
Amanda is part of a Hull based collective of 12 women. In April 2017 they published their book, ‘An Untold Story’, which tells of their personal journeys and their lives to the streets and back and the difficulties they each faced.
These include prostitution, homelessness, addiction, domestic violence, coercion, mental health problems, childhood trauma etc.
They did this in their own words and images with stories, poems, prose, photos and artwork.
After the book was launched, a few of the authors decided they had only scratched the surface. They wanted to continue to talk truthfully, honestly and openly, highlighting the issues they faced and to challenge the stigma attached to these difficult subjects.
