Dr Lucy Chiddick

Clinical Lead for Vulnerable Groups, Hull CCG/Bevan Health Care Substance Misuse Lead

GP

Lucy has worked with the homeless for over 20 years in various voluntary and paid roles. She is particularly interested in the mental wellbeing of marginalised women, and in 2005 she co-founded a charity working with women in street prostitution in Leeds (joannaproject.co.uk).

Lucy currently works in Leeds as a GP in inclusion health and substance misuse, and as clinical lead for vulnerable groups in Hull, where she advocates for the health-rights of the most marginalised.

Her own past experience of ‘depression’ in what at times can feel like an uncompromising ‘health’ sector, encouraged her to participate in grassroots mental health activism as part of mad pride Hull, aiming to get people talking and acting creatively around mental distress.
