Kate joined Groundswell in October 2012 and is their Director of Advocacy, overseeing their Homeless Health Peer Advocacy Project. She has worked in  volunteer management for the last fifteen years specialising in managing projects making volunteering more accessible. She has carried out a variety of different volunteer management roles including National Volunteer Manager at Terrence Higgins Trust, Information Officer at Volunteering England and Volunteer Development Manager at Off the Streets and Into Work. Career highlights include spearheading the campaign to allow volunteers on benefits to claim lunch expense and publishing several books on volunteer management.
