TB Outreach Worker

I was diagnosed with TB on the Mobile X-ray Unit in 2011 whilst homeless and have first-hand experience of the challenges that people face accessing services and engaging with TB treatment including DOT.TB still carries a great deal of stigma ,especially for some migrant communities. I understand how to communicate sensitively about TB and am skilled at helping patients accept the diagnosis, take treatment and ensure that their contacts can access screening.

I took part in training of the fourth year medical student at UCL during their determinants of health lectures. This lecture was the most highly rated training on the public health course and is now an annual part of medical student training at UCL.
