Peter joined the NHS in 1978 as a nursing auxiliary and following training as a general nurse, specialised in A+E.  He moved into general management in 1986, and specialised in children’s services first at Greenwich, then West Hertfordshire. In 1999 he became Chief Executive of Cotswold Primary Care Group and moved to Cumbria in 2001 to become Chief Executive of Eden Valley Primary Care Trust.

Peter worked for the Modernisation Agency with CEOs and Boards of PCTs with zero stars, then for various community providers, NHSL and the Specialised Commissioning Group. This rich experience has made him a passionate advocate for quality health services.

He is now the Director of the Office of London CCGs which supports the 32 London CCGs for the things they want to do on a once-for-London basis.
