Riad Akbur is a social housing and statutory homelessness professional. He has worked in both frontline local authority operations and policy and strategy. For the past 4 years Riad has headed up HOST at Tower Hamlets Council, the borough’s housing options service for single homeless people. Riad is the housing rep for the borough’s MAPPA, the housing lead on the Royal London Hospital’s discharge pathway for homeless patients, and the joint-lead for the tri-borough No First Night Out initiative, an ambitious project to prevent and combat rough sleeping covering Tower Hamlets, City of London and Hackney.
