Rory Weal

St Mungo’s
Rory Weal is the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer for St Mungo’s, the homelessness charity and housing association. Prior to that, Rory worked for the charity Rethink Mental Illness and for a Member of Parliament. Rory is interested in the links between homelessness and health and how these problems vary by place. Last year he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to travel to the United States and study responses to homelessness in rural communities.
Rory was the lead author for the latest St Mungo’s report published last month – Knocked back: failing to support people sleeping rough with drug and alcohol problems is costing lives. He will be presenting some of these findings today.
